About Kim
I began swimming at an early age as my family had boats, the dog could swim, my Dad could swim, but my Mother could not therefore she knew if I could swim and the dog too, my Dad would rescue her in an emergency. These early years led me to love the water and to be safe, secure and comfortable in and around it.
As a child, I joined Poole Swimming Club and became a recognised asset to their team and became a County swimmer throughout the age groups and over the years. This progressed into training with the Royal Marines at Hamworthy whilst preparing myself for Modern Penthaletes, which in the end was too time consuming.
As a day vocation, I am Aqua-Babe – which is a new born to pre-school swimming group that I am privileged to organise with the support of The Junction and the use of their pool, I absolutely love my job and if I won the Lottery, I would give all the little swimmers and their parents, my time free of charge, it is such a wonderful, enjoyable and rewarding vocation, my wrinkles prove it! I am now a Mother of two children aged 15 & 13, they both are County swimmers and not because I forced them, they wanted to do it, now it is changing and they have both given up competitive swimming to become Young Swimming Coaches – which allows them to still participate in the sport and pass on their knowledge and give back into the sport. I am immensely proud of them both.
I am totally committed and passionate about the “GIFT OF LIFE” that you are allowing your children to benefit from - in the swimming world, some will be competitive and some will not – it DOES not matter, you have invested in something so special and THANK YOU.
Any spare time that I may have, I am a Teacher/Coach with Wareham & District Swimming Club, this role covers all aspects for swimming.
